Have you ever wanted to make apps? Nows your chance to learn from these video series.

I started John's Android Studio Tutorials in 2015. I'd watched a lot of Android Studio tutorials but I felt like most of them blabbered, went of topic, and talked about pointless things. So I set out with the mission to do what they did but better. Since I was now pretty well educated because I learned the same thing but from many perspectives. I did not want to copy other peoples tutorials, but I felt like I could do it better. I just wanted to combine the knowledge and make the most helpful and useful tutorials that are current and relate to the people watching and what they are working on. I noticed that some people have video series on random things that nobody needs, but when I want to know how to do something useful there was nothing. I wont be making tutorials on one type o project say building a messaging app, but I will make one about using a text box or button. Which if you are building a messaging app will be useful. Even if you aren't you can apply what I teach to any project your working on. I am going to make videos regarding what you all need not random useless things.
With this is mind let's create and keep moving forward!
Ever wanted to make android apps? Now is your chance to learn from my Android Studio tutorial videos.
I started this youtube channel in 2015. I set out with the goal of producing quick, but informational videos that only contain information relevant to the topic at hand. I wanted to set up a channel where new and even experienced programmers could search for whatever they are working on, and they would find a short, quick, and accurate video that pertains to their needs.
What does all this mean? Well basicly when you find yourself watching one of my tutorial videos, you can relax knowing that you will only see and hear content directly relating to the topic you are currently pursuing. That means no long lengthy intros, no listening to someone go off about random things in their youtube channel that you couldn't careless about. It means I will get right to the point. It means the video will be quick in an effort to show my respect for your time, and that I want you to be satisfied with you have viewed.
Even though I am only Android Studio for these tutorials, you should still be able to follow along for the most part in other programs like eclipse.

How I personally got started
Well to start I just watched YouTube videos on how to start with Android Studio. Watching how to make the hello world app was helpful. After that I watched random tutorials to see if I could duplicate it. All this exposure helped me learn faster. However I still wasn't completely getting it, I thought maybe if I teach what I know it will stick better in my memory. And so John's Android Studio Tutorials was born. It's been active for a year and I now feel pretty confident to tackle all basics and even dabble in advanced programs. However I would not say, I know everything, I never even had a formal education, but I do my best to make it look like I know what I'm talking about. You being in school for this will give you opportunities I never had.
As far as other resources go, usually I just google whatever I need the app to do and copy and modify the code to whatever I need. Usually websites like stack overflow are very helpful.
Im not really familiar with the Firebase platform, so I dont know if i can help with that, however eventually Ill check it out.
To sum up, Google is your friend, it knows answers to your questions even when nobody does. Hopefully this email answered some of your questions, if you still have more don't hesitate to ask
